This is a song about letting one thing take control of your life. Although the chorus implies it's some kind of "hurt by love" song, it's actually much deeper, about how one thing can go about screwing up everything else.

This song is about trying to stay close to someone despite the fact that all the chances of you being with them again are insanely low.
